NERETVA

Green river and lost town

The river, coming from the mountains, found a way to the sea and during centuries has formed delta on its course, imprisoning islets with nothing left with, except for orchards of orange and lemon trees on their banks.

The calm water of the nearby lake Kuti contrasts with the hills that surround the lake.

Small traditional boats slide on the surface of the water, through the luxurious vegetation of the lake; numerous Roman ruins, dating from the time of the Roman emperor Nero, jut out of the plains.

They were discovered during the last century and are carefully maintained in the museum at the village Vid.

The other parts of this ancient city are still appearing with present excavations.
